It was decided to try and get reß ports from all collectors by nei’M Monday, and if possible to close tht/J fund at the end of the monthh. The focal Committee invite scriptions to the fund for the ai“S of the Blind. It is proposed by Clutha Mackenzie, M.P., to raise ? q sum of £45,000 bj- private subscript tiou. The Government subsidises thisgH by 24s for every £l, making the t k; tai amount available for this mos-rS deserving object £lOO,OOO. The quotiH for Waimate district is £3OO.
