PERSONAL
Staff Sergt-Major Edmonds, who has been in charge of the Waimate district for a number of years, has received notice of his transfer to Ashburton, and leaves to-morrow. Sergt-Major Edmonds is very well liked by all those w - ho have come in contact with him. He was a keen member of the Defence Rifle Club, and was an enthusiastic bowler; and his departure will be greatly regretted.
Mr It. Coath, who left Waimate on Saturday to take up his new position with the Bank of New Zealand in Wellington, has been suddenly called upon to relieve the manager of the Timaru branch, and in consequence he will remain in Timaru for a month before proceeding to th e North Island.
