AUSTRALIAN NEWS.

Per Press Association— Coiyright. SYDNEY, Oct. 7. The route of the late Mr Storey’s funeral from the Cathedral to the railway station, for several hours before the cortege moved, was lined with dense crowds. After an impressive service at the Cathedral conducted by the Dean and the Primate of Sydney, the procession, which was headed by the Fire Brigade Band and 3000 marching Unionists, left for Field Mars cemetery. At the railway station special trains were waiting for those marching. The Cathedral, where the body lay in state, was visited by many thousands. The funeral was one of the largest and most representative held in the State, four motor cars being necessary to carry the floral tributes. Members of the Federal Labour Party were absent, the secretary telegraphing that they were unable to attend owing to the critical position in the House of Representatives.
