TWO FOOLISH ESCAPADES.

One wight he met a young lady ' in London who was. equally lonely. She -wag engjag-ed to a soldier who had lately gone to th'e front. They dined together in Soho> talking! aftfout books, music and art. Their relations were purejly P 1 *' tonic. They afterwards 'hooked a roomi. at an hotel*, where thiey; stayed'for the night* continuMg their talk. No misconduct, took ptoce.
