♦ The Minister of Defence, Sir ,j. Allen, in the House* on Tuesday, referred to the 'Splendid services of the special 'New Zealand Tunnelling Corps, numbering- 400 men. He did not want to create an excels feeling of pride,'but we had a:right to he promt Lof the Tunnelling Corps He would like io ask the miners of New Zealand it they would want to see. tho main body of Dmnelleixs lacking in reinforcements because we. had, not the pluck to keep going. Mr Payne: Why don’t you go yourself and show your pluck? Many members: Why don’t you go ? The Minister said he would not believe that anyone would sup or t any slackening off in reinforcing these splendid men.
