Tlif Italian official report says:— At San Marco, eastward of Gorizia, during heavy fighting yesterday three determinad enemy attacks under cover of the darkness were made against Two Pines, a house salient. They were repulsed. This morning, after intense artillery preparation, they renewed the attacks but only succeeded in taking a trench south-eastward of Two Pines. DEUTSCHLAND'S RETURN TO AMERICAN WATERS. CUTS A TUG IN HALVES. DOCKED FOR INSPECTION (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assocn) Received this day, 'S.;">O a.nr. New York, yesterday. The Deutschaland reached the mouth of Long Island Sound. When escorting her a tug attempted to cross her bows in the strong current. The Deutschland was invisible in the darkness as she carried no lights. The tug was cut in two, and sank in three minutes. The captain was crushed in the wheel-house, and four of the crew were trapped like rats below. The others were saved, including Mr. Hinch, the representative of the Deutschland's owners. The Deutschland returned to New London under her own steam and was docked for examination. The damage is unknown. The members of the Deutschland's crew say that she will resail in a few days.
