HOCKEY.
TIMAiRU LAMES' CLUBS. VISIT TO WAIMATE. On Wednesday two Timaru ladies’ teams, Minerva and St. Mary’s, visited Waimate to engage in friendly games with the local clubs. Minerva and Waimate played a drawn game, each side scoring two goals, Miss Cooke being the- scoper for Minerva, and Miss J. Kane for Waimate. Mr P. D. Maurice controlled the game. The St. Mary’s team met, and wore defeated by the Star, team by one goal (scored by Miss M. Hogan) to nil. Messrs Coc and Maurice were referees. ; WAJM'ATE COMPETITIONS. The Waimiate competitions’ subcommittee, appointed by the South .Canterbury Association (Messrs I\ D, Maurice, A. Henderson and J, Marsh), have met and decided that three rounds will he played in both senior and junior competitions. The. following is the draw for flic first round SENIOR. . June 11.—Star v. School. Waimate a, bye. .(School Ground). June 18.— Waimate v. School; Star a bye. June 25.—Waimate v. Star; School a bye. JUNIOR. June 11.—Waimate v. Star; School a bye. (Waimate’s ground). June 18.—Star v. School; Waimate a, bye. June 25.—School v. Waimate; Star a bye. ihe senior games are to consist of two spells of 30 minutes each, and the junior 25 minutes each.
