The difference constitutes an immediate and certain Bonus; The Valuation as at 31st Decent her, 1913, was made on the stringent Om Tables of Mortality with an assumed rate of interest of only 3 percent. The “Provident” was therefore the second Colonial office transacting business in New Zealand to value the whole of its Life, Assurance Contracts at 3 per cent, and the first to use this very low rate in conjunction with the most modern Mbrtalitv Tables.
