ANNUAL MEETLW, WAIMATE LADIES GLIB. MATCH WITH MINERVA
Al, the annual meeting o[ the Waimate Ladies' Hockey Club thai following oilicer.s were appointed : President. Mrs G. Dash; Vice-Pre-sident, Mrs Pitts; Club L'a.ptain, Miss E. Tomlin; Vice-Captain, Miss A. O'Brien; hon. Secretary, Miss J. Cochrane; lion, treasurer, Miss" K. Nolau; hon. auditor, Mr E. Bamnerman; Misses A. Lawbr, E. Lindsay, O. Brinkman, and Mr Maurice; coach',, Mr Maurice; delegates to South Canterbury Hockey Association, Messrs J. H. Wallace and Maurice. The Club is now cC tn'iialed to the South Canterbury Association. if enough Clubs are formed, there is a prospect of having a competition in the Waimate. district this season. ! In the Park at Timaru on Easter Monday the Waimate Ladies' Club mot Minerva (Timaru). These are both senior teams. Considering that the match was the first of the- '.season in South Canterbury, the play was very good, being fast and even. Waimate scored a goal in the tirst .spell, Miss A. Lawlor being the "opportunist"; and Minerva brought things even in the second spell. Miss T. Webster being the scorer. The game ended drawn—one goal each. AEr Coe, junior, refereed. The visitors wore entertained at lunch by the Minerva Club and later at afternoon tea in the Park.
