The annual State School entertainment took place fit the Makikihi Library Hall on Friday evening last. The night was fine and there was a big audience to reward and delight the promoters and, by reciprocation, to he rewarded and delighted, with a first-class concert. The first part consisted of miscellaneous items, contributed by pupils and friends of the School. In the- second part was produced the pretty juvenile operetta "Sleeping Beauty." .Never has Makikihi done better, and the "parents of the School" may be pardoned if they experienced a. feeling of pride. After the concert there was a dance, and- pale Phoebus still "rode the heavens'' when Auld Lang Syne was sung and the dancers left for their homes.
