Citizens Meeting. OLD "NEW CLUB" ROOMS, .at Guinness and LeCren's FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27tb, 8 p.m. - His Worship.the Mayor in the Chair. To consider Proposal for a Saturday Collection in Waimate for Barnardo's Homes. Sympathisers asked to ba present, ' including"- ladies. - [ADVT.] To the Editor, Waimate Advertiser,Sir,— Mr Charles Dash, Waimate correspondent, Oamaru Mail (and brother of Mr George Dash, the gentleman with whom I have bsen challenged to debate the question of Prohibiten as carried out in Oamaru), in his report of last Saturday's open air meeting winds up by stating that "there will be a bumper house," and concludes that he (Mr Charles Dash) "don't think." Well, Sir, anyone who knows this correspondent's mental powers are quite aware, without .being told by himself, that he "don't think," never has sanely thought, and further, is incapable of sensible thinking; conse-, quently any errors he commits are expected, just as one anticipates approaching chicken-pox by the presence cf many minute and inflamed spots. As I have for many years past lived and struggled eolely for the benefit of the human race, and especially for those who suffer through deficiency of brains, particularly those who admit they "don't think," I shall avail myself of the first opportunity, may be, the same evening as that on which I debate, to deal with Mr Charles Dash. In conclusion, I may say it is a well known medical maxim that where the patient is aware of the nature of his i ailment he is already partly cured. Therefore, the friends of Mr Charles Dash may rest assured that with the benefit of my renowned treatment Mr Dash may yet be given the faculty of thinking. j Yours, etc., I GEO. BOLTON. I
