Quadrille Assembly.

—Q ' The extended dance of the Zealandia Quadrille Assembly was held on Thursday evening in the Oddfellows’ Hail, which had been nicely decorated for the occasion. Indeed, the trouble taken must have been considerable, the tasteful draping of windows and the ferns, palms and flags presenting an exceedingly pretty effect. The floor is now getting in capital order, and with tuneful music supplied by Miss Gaitt (piano) and Mr W. Meyers (violin) an enjoyable dance was guaranteed. Messrs F. and W - Drayton made capable M.’tC.. forty couples being present. During the evening'’refreshments, provided by Messrs Mitchell and Crawford, were handed round by the committee, assisted by the Misses McDuff. These young ladies had also assisted with the decorations, and the, committee desire to express their appreciation. The dance broke up at 1 p.m. During the evening a hornpipe was nicely danced by Mr G. Rodgers. Piper Cooper played for the Scotch dances.
