The Premier replied to a question -whether Mr Sed don's proposal to 'federate the Pacific Islands might nob end in the Islands coming \mder the N-ew Zealand tariff, thus giving free entry of the goods of that colony and restricting goods from Australia. Sk W. Lyne said that, in the face of Mr Chamberlain's statement on the subject, it Trould be premature for his Government to move in the matter. The Fiji correspondent of the Telegraph says that since Mr Beddon's visit there had been a lavival of the desire for annaxtion, 'either to New Zealtnd or South Wales.
