Patriotic Fund.
The chairman of the local Patriotic Commutes r*oeir«d the following telegram iated Wellington, July 18th :—: — Ab a conference of Mayors, tbe majority of whom are also ohairmen of Patriotic Fund Committees, is now beinf held in Wellington, the time appears to be appropriate for dealing with the question of disposal of monies in the hands of the various conamUteis. I dsure to suggest that a conference of delegates, representing all the committees, be held in Wellington at as early a date as possible, with a vinw of submitting legislation to Parliament, pro Tiding that funds may be dealt with in a comprahencira manner. If the suggestion is apprered I shall ba pleased to rneefc the conference and state my views on the subject. — R. J. Skddon, Wellington.
