The Bubonic Plague.

Sydney, July 13. Despite yesterday's cases and the Premier's consequent statement, the gazetting of a free port will not be withheld. The Board of Health are issuing dean bills.

July 14. Twenty-four plague patients remain in quarantine. Brisbane, July 13. A case of plague was reported today, the patient being a boy residing at Cairns.

Wellington. July 18. Mr Soddon has sent the following cablegram to the Premiers at Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart : "No further cases of plague since one reported three weeks ago. None of the contacts contracted disease, and have therefore to state the colony is clean." The following additional words were added to the cablegram sent to Sydney : " Exceedingly sorry to hear that further cases have occurred in your colony."
