SENSATION AT TAIHAPE. [PER PRESS ASSOCtITtON. —COPYRIGHT.] TAIHAPE, Feb. 18. A sensation was caused here by the airest of George Sutherland, Town Clerk, on a charge of stealing moneys, the property of the Taihape Borough Council. Accused was before the court yesterday and was remanded till Monday, bail being allowed, in sureties of self in £2OO and on two others, of £l5O each. The alleged defalcations total £3OO. Detective Siddells is investigating the matter.
