JUBILEE PICTURES TO-NfGHT. Princess Theatre is sure to lie crowded to-night when the jubilee celebration pictures will be shown and a memorable event will be enacted over again. The lilm is a splendid' record of an historic occasion, and to a local audience will be specially interesting because so many well-known people will be seen, while the scones are well laid in familiar places. The heavy booking for reserved seats indicates that there will be a very large audience. In addition to the special jubilee picture, Mr, Pollard is putting on a complete supporting programme of the latest picutres. The star picture is “ The Vampire of the .Desert,” .a Vitigraph drama of an emotional character. There are other good picture plays '.and some very- amusing comedies, white scenic views of a topical chronicle complete q vey entertaining programme. The proceeds of to-night's euterlaiument are in aid of the Westland Pioneers' Memorial and for so worthy an object (apart from the capital programme promised) there will be a very full bouse. Admission arte« are 2s for circle and orchestral stalls, and Is for back stalls and pit.
COMIC OPERA FOR HOKITIKA. Mr. Frank O’Sullivan, representative of the Merry Widow Opera Company writes to say that this clover organisation is visiting Hokitika on Monday, March 2nd, and will play a season of three nights, presenting no less than three big musical comedy successes in "The Quaker Girl,” “Tho Arcadians,” and “Tlie. Cingalee.” All three enjoy big European reputations and are attracting record houses everywhere in New Zealand.
