MARIST BROS OLD BOYS CONCERT COMPANY.
Something very unusual in the way of entertainments is promised in the forthcoming visit of the famous combination of musical talent, Tho Marist Brothers Old Boys Concert Company, of Auckland. This company enjoys a great reputation in the Auckland district, and includes many artists of note, from tho northern city, amongst whom might be mentioned Mr. Fred Bourke, tho eminent Irish baritone, Mr. James Lonorgan (basso), Air. Frank Adoane (tenor), who won tho gold medal for operatic tenners at tho recent musical competitions at Auckland, Mr. Stanley Pritchard, winner of the bass -solo at tb : same competitions, and Afr. Harry Bnrradale (elocutionist) one of the finest entertainers in the Dominion. In addition to these gentlemen, there is a full male choir, whoso splendid part songs, quartettes, and humorous entertianmonts have served to make tho company tho popular organisation which it now is. The entertainments are of a_ most wholesome character, every item being of a nature which will appeal to the most fastidious taste, whilst the element of humour introduced throughout the performances is always bright and exhilarating. The company is under (he direction e* Air. P. .1. Clarke, who was the original founder of this splendid organisation and whose name is sufficient guarantee of the excellence of the show here. It will he a source of gratifiea!ion to many to know that Air. Clarke is an old West Coaster, having been horn In Hokitika, and he was afterwards an official of the Post and Telegraph Department at Westport. Of the other members of the company, no less than nine aro either natives of Westland or the descendants ef previous residents. Accompanying the parly (which consists of twenty-two members) will ho the Rov. Father Holbrook, Administ’ator of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Auckland, who is Chaplain of tho A 1.8.0.8. Club. Tho Company leaves Auckland on May sth and opens its season at Weston Thursday, May 9th.
