The ordinary meeting of the B.<ard was held hi t evening at 7 o’clock. Present: Messrs Duff (chair), R. \Yild and J. J. Mclntosh. The Balance Sheet for the period coding March 3Lt, 1912, was adopt 'd. After the confirmation of the previous minutes the outward ennv ponucnco was approved. l-r.v&rd Garrespontlcnoe. From Advance Deportment, notifying that the first payment in conntetioo with inU-rest and : inking fund on loon, amounting to ,9292 would fall due on April JULli.—Revived. From J. if.’Fowler, Audit Inspector, miking for full particulars re expenses drawn by members.—Received and information supplied. From Maori Shipping Coy., asking p s.s. Jlolmdale could work tho pert on a draft of 10ft.—Received. Mr. H. L. Michel (Chairman) and Mr. S. Evans here took their seats. ENGINEER’S REPORT.
Contrast 3/11, North Wall Extension:—Sine? my last report, 00 feet luis been added to the length of tlie wall. The total length of the wall is now 3GO feet.
Contract 4/11, New South Wall Heitor driving lias been met during the past month and the progress has been accelerated. 35 feet has been driven in 30 days, making the wall 125 feet long, from the paint of eoi-uironrcmcnt ®f tliis contract. Contrast 5/It, Repairs to Ncrth Wall: —This work is now completed. Centred 6/11 > Extension shorewards. Now South Wall;— This work is now completed, and the contractor’s deposit inav lie rclea ed.
Csntract 7/11, Renewal of Wharf: — Thi, work was finished last week, hut the contractor has yet to clear up the site and remove some timber from the bed of tho River. As directed by the Board 1 have had tho ragwort on the Board’s Reserve destroyed.

From Agricultural Department, asking tho Board to burn ragwort after being cut.—Received. Accounts amounting to £1622 18s Ml were passed for payment. The Harbourmaster . reported that the channel was good and running in a we t north westerly direction. The depth of water on the bar was 10ft at high water, the gunge being Gfc Gin.— Received. Mr. AVild moved that copies of the Harbourmaster's monthly report be forwarded to the Anchor Company, Union Steam Ship Company, Harbours’ Ascot i.ition rid AA’arnombool Shipping authorities, so that they would bo able to judge as to the improvement to the channel which was being effected as a result of Hie extension of the north and ;out!i walls. Seconded hv the chairman and carried.
The chairman reported Hut .Air. James Park iuul kindly olvered tho use of ids ketch, the AA'akaiti, (free of charge) for sounding purposes, tho only ( inclition imposed being that the Board should he responsible for the safety of the ves;cl.
It was resolved to empower the secretary to procure tho ketch when m c-
