AMUSEMENTS

THE WESTLAND OPERA HOUSE, Picture lovers will to-night have an opportunity of seeing the grand 2000 ft pictures which are being screened at the Opera House hy the Now Theatre Picture Company. The star picture will bo "The Rose of Kentucky,” a beautiful American drama bv the A.B. Cov.

"Trappers” is another well-selected picture, and has created enthusiasm wherever shown. The Opera House has already become a favourite place for patrons desirous of an enjoyable animated picture entertainment. The programme has been carefully selected for the Kastcr holidays, and, under a most powerful light and a flickerloss machine. those present should be well repaid for their attendance. BELLE CROME COMPANY. A WELCOME RE-APPEARANCE. Quite a largo and enthusiastic audience assembled at the Princess Theatre last evening and attested the laet that the Belle Crome Company were as welcome as ever. The management bloiovo in change of personality, and on this occasion several new features and tacos are introduced. The Bellringing of the combination is still to the fore, and the numbers of the programme were given with the same attention and finished detail and secured the hearty approbation of a delighted audience. Miss Ethel Richards who made herself so popular last year came in for a good reception, and her contributions during the evening mot with hearty appreciation. The same remark applies'to Mr Llewellyn, the company’s basso, who, although suffering from a cold, rendered yeoman service with his lino voice. Mv. Reis, a new comedian on this tour, was responsible for the humorous side of the programme. His songs were given with inimitable, style, while his dancing was a great feature in bis work. Miss Rollo Crome and Mr. Harry Eanc gave some excellent duets on the Xylophone and Mandoline, and their work mot with ready response. The latter appeared in a dainty number entitled “ Tho Widow,” which was given with groat coquoty and gained much applause. In the “Aluminium Organ" Chimes,” tho audience were introduced to an instrument, the like of which has never been heard here The wonderful tone being unlike every other instrument, and played as it was by Mr. Crome, simply brought down the house. In Morris and Wilson (who brought the programme to a close) the. company have an act tlmt simply astonishes one. Tins situations of each and at the same time very clever. It was fitting finish to a successful show. Mr. E. Crome presided at the piano during the evening, besides taking part in the bcllvinging, and was, needless to say, a great material assistance. To-night’s programme includes some new features, and we predict a bumper house for this talented company.
