ACCIDENT TO A CONTESTANT. [BY TEKEGItAPH—PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ■. NAPIER, Sept. 29. . At the professional wrestling match held here this evening between F. Czar of Napier, and Joe Gardiner, of London, Gardiner was injured, afer lOmins. 29socs., by Czar getting a Irg-ahd-hand hold. ami tin-owing his opponent over his shoulder. Gardiner, failing to get his hands free, fell on his head, twisting the cartilage of his neck. He was quite unable to continue, and was carried from the stage. The referee gave his decision in favour of Czar, hut the promoters refused to hand over the stakes.
