TWELVE MONTHS SETTLEMENT OF THE DISPUTE.

CONDITIONS AND WAGES IMPROVED.

A meeting of the miners employed at the Ross Goldfields mine was held at 8 o’clock yesterday morning to consider the terms including the matter of wages, working hours etc., upon which the Company was prepared to meet the demands made by the men. The deliberations were not of a very lengthy nature and after thp position had been discussed it was agreed to continue work for twelve months under the following conditions proposed by the Company;—Facemen, lls per day of 8 hours; Truckers 10s one level, and 10s Od on the other. Platemen lls per day 6 hours per day. Great satisfaction was expressed locally when it was known that a settlement had been arrived at. The Company paid out at Ross yesterday £I3OO in wages.
