THE GOVERNOR’ SITINERARY. His Excellency the Governor proceeds to Ross to-day, where ho will he ban((Uetted. Tn'-inorrow (17th) he proceeds to Kumnra, where he will be tendered a complimentary social. On the 18th he goes to Otira and will vis-
it the tunnel workings at that end. He leaves Otira on the 19th for Bealey, where a short stay will bo made at the tun el workings before continuing the journey to Christchurch. His Excelcency returns to Wellington on the 20th and loaves again on the 22nd to commence his tour of South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. The Governor will leave for Rakaia on the 23rd and will motor through various parts of the district to Mount Somers, leaving there by train for Ashburton. Ho reaches Timaru on the following day, visits Fairlie on the 25th, and Waimate on the 26th. On the 28th he goes to Oamaru, where he will visit the Easter bowKng tournament' and the various schools. He will stay the night at Elderslie, and on the 30th proceed as far as Port Chalmers. The next evening will bo spent in Dunedin and on the Ist of April ho will visit Mosgiel, Balclutha, Gatlins and Clinton. The next day’s itinerary will in-
clude a drive through the country to Waimahaka, where he w|ill join the train for the Bluff. On the 4th his Excellency will proceed to Invercargill and the following evening he will reach Gore, after visiting Riversdale, Switzers and other places. The oth will be occupied with visits to Tapanui and Mataura, and on the 7th he will be entertained by the Masonic body at Gore. He leaves in the afternoon for Dunedin and on the 9th leaves for Wellington. His Excellency will, after a short fishing ecursiion, continue his tour of the North Island. His present intention is to pay official farewell visits to Dunedin and Christchurch some time about the middle or the end of the month. The date of his departure from New Zealand has not yet been definitely fixed, but it will probably be at the end of May or the beginning of June.
