mUSBANE, Sep. 6.— Twenty British anil nine Canadian delegates to the Chambers of Commerce Congress arrived hj the Marama. In the course of interviews dealing with the importance of the Congress in the .direction of fostering am\ federating the trade of the Empire they recognised that preferential trade within the Empire would be the principal pick. One British delegate declared he personally strongly believed a scheme could be devised, which would prove beneficial to both the Mother Country and the Colonies. The visitors expressed their high appreciation of New Zealand's and Australia's otters of assistance for Empire defence.

BRISBANE, Sept. 6.— The Mayor of Brisbane officially welcomed It-he visiting Chambers of Commerce delegates to-day.
