BRISBANE. Sep. 6.— Eastern files contain details of the recent great fire at Osaka. It raged for 25 hours despite the efforts of 600 firemen, 2000 police and an enormous force of troops. It devastated an area' 2£ miles in length and a quarter to a -half mile in breadth, and destroyed the law courts and many public buildings, including the Governor's house, schools, temples,

museum, warehouses .and 13,000 Louses. A stiong wind and long continued drought, and poor fire brigade equipment were factors assisting in the disaster. . .
