HOKITIKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The committee met last evening at 7.15 o'clock. Present : — Messrs Clarke (chairman), Lloyd, Mabin, Greaney, Shannon and^Blank. From Education Department notifying in reference to minaiture rifle rang es an'l offering a subsidy of £ for £ for their construction. — Received.
From the teacher at South Spit school reporting the average attendance : Boys 10.9; girls 12.7 out 'of a roll of 27. Received and adopted. It was resolved that a holdiay be declared on Wednesday in connection with the Ross Goldfields .opening ceremony. The visiting committee Messrs Mahin and Conlson, reported on small repairs necessary to' the rector's residence.
Messrs Robinson and Coulson were appointed a visiting committee for the ensiuing month.
Accounts , amounting to £8 16s were passed for payment. The meeting then terminated.
