THE RAILWAY TIME TABLE.

His Worship the Mayor sent the following telegrams on Saturday in connection with the recent alterations in connection with the railway timota'ble :~

To Hon. James Millar, Minister for Railways, Wellington.— The Hokitika Borough Council last night passed a resolution asking me to protest against the alteration of the Hokitika-Grey-mouth train service, which has done away with Thursday evenings' train from here to Greymouth. This train was the connecting train for East Coast coach service and Wellington steamer service. I would strongly urge that the "old time-table should be immediately reverted to. It seems hard that 6000 people at this end should be inconvenienced by having to put up | with the present position for even a few weeks. (Signed) H. L. Michel, Mayor To Thomas Scddon, Esq., M.P., Wellington.— Kindly see my telegram to Hon Minister for Railways re Hoki-tika-Greymouth time-table and do what you can. (Signed) H. L. Michel, Mayor.
