WRECK OF THE SCOW SURPRISE.
Auckland, July 26 A Tairua message states that the steamer Onßlow visited the scene of the wreck of the scow " Surprise " again yeatar Jay. Constable Brown and party eeurched the beaches, but could find no bodies. They secured a flag, some bioken life buoys and a name board. The steamer called at^Ohui, and brought H Jackson, the sole survivor, to Tairua. He is still weak. As showing the fury of the storm, dozens of crayfish and dead fish were thrown upon the beach, also, tons of seaweed. The ship's dog was foudd lying on the Puwanui beacb.
