INCREASING THE PAY Of THE POLICE FORCE.
Wellington, June 14
The Minister of Justice intends to submit to Parliaments a proposal to increase tbe pay of members of the polioe force. This decision has been come to on the recommendation of the Police Oommiasiocer, who considers that owing to the increase of police duties and extra cost of living, tbe rate of pay should be increased. It is also understood that Parliament will be asked to increase the pay o£ prison warders.
