A. team from the Hukitika Tennis Club visited Greymouth on Saturday to try conclusions with the Greymou h C üb, and a most eojoyiblo day was spent. The match was a very clese one, firit one side Uauing, and than the other, and it was

not until all the games bad been played

that the Hokitika players brtathed a long breath of relief when they found after a count of the dead, wounded and miming that victory rested with Hokitika by 128 games to 120. Most of the players on either side were quite new to match play, and acquitted themselves exceedingly. In the ladies' singles the honors were even. Miss Malfroy beat Miss Smith after a close and exc* ting contest by 6 games to 5. Mi«s Ida Lewis heat Mies V, rrall by 6 to 3, Miss Flicker proved too s'rong for Miss Lewis winning by 6 to 3, and Mi s Blackmore beat Mies Clarke by 6to 1. ~ln the ladii/ double* the Gr«yluouih Indies wer« too strong for tbeir
