The Times says tbe Government intends to legislate during the present year on the line of the report of the Committees which sat under the cliairmhnsbip or Jenne aud Bonar and Law to deal with shipping.

The Senate, in amending the Ships Subsidy Bill, rejected the tonnage tax and reduced the American lines cub sidy. Senatoi Frye predicted a line would be driven under a foreign flag.
