Brisbane, Jan 29 The Chief Els ctric an of the Pacific Cable, Mr Milward, arri\eti hco today by the Miowera. He comes on las annual tour of inspection. Mr Milward says the cable is working exceedingly well. The traffic was eatisfaccory, as far as it went. At an early date changes would be made regarding the banding in of messages, which would place the Pacific Coy on the same footing as the Eastern Extension Coy. Mr Milward considers that cable companies hare nothing to fear from wireleft telegraphy, as there is a great dpal of. uncertainty about the system, and it is also much slower than the cable. Ib would, however, prove usjful for paces whereto there was insufficient inducement to lay a cable.
