MUSICAL ASD VARIETY SEASON.

Local amusements will be stimulated next Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Princess Theatre as will be seen by Mr Charles MacMahon's announcement in our advertising columns to-day. Mr MacMahon has completed arrangements with Mr P R Dix, whereby tho whole of the popular organisation known as Dixs Gaiety Company will be transported to Hokitika, and give two performance?. In addition to old favourites of the well known Dix Company, are several new artistes from England and America. The organisation comprises 20 members in all branches of mubic, mirth and magic. Tbe latest popular eongs, dances' and instrumental numbers will be included in the programmes, together with wonderful manifestations of magic by Herr Killmaa » modern Houdin. An interesting feature will be the exhibition by the London bioscope of th.c most recent animated pictures of stirring contemporary events. Every item iv the carefully worked out programme is a star one. The song?, instrumental selections aud comedies are of the most popular and up-to-date character.
