PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES.
PRE-ELECTION ADDRESSES.
Palmbrston NoxtH, Oct 27 Mr W T Wood, the Government candidate for the Palmerston North saat* addressed a very large raeeling of electors litre to-night. His speech was mainly in favour of the Government policy aud he declared himself a supporter, though not ftblind follower of the Premier. At the conclusion of the speech which was attentively listened to. a vote of thanks and confidence was carried nnani* haonsly. Wellington, Oct 27 John Duthie, a candidate for one of the city seats, addressed the electors to night in a speech which traversed in a hostile spirit, many portions of the Government administration. He com plained that the railways had been maintained out of loan money instead of the revenue. The railways were now in a worked Out condition He was opposed to any increasein taxation on land values. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed. TNew Plymouth, Oct 27 Mr H. Okey, a candidate for Taranakl, addressed a packed meeting hew to-night and announced himself an Independent Liberal. . , | {He received a vote of thanks
