The anniversary regatta of the Port Nicholson Y»cht Club was held to day in favorable weather. There was a northwest wind which varied slightly m power but was never more than moderately strong. Much interest was taken in the meeting of the Auckland yacht Rainbow and the Wellington yacht Waitangi. They were the only two that competed in the race for first-class yachts. The Rainbow sailed the course of 27 knots in 16min 2sec» less time than the Waitangi, including her time allowance cf 9min 50sec. The Rainbow won in 26min llsec.
The first race for second class yachts was won by the Atalanta and the second by the Mahina.
In the first race for half-niters the Ruru waß winner and the Maroro won the second race.
The large entry of second class yacht was the feature of the regatta.
