A TALE OE A WRECK
[Press Association] (Received May 9, at 3.20 p.m.) Adelaide, May 9. , A boy named May has arrived at Cape Borda from JJocky river. He states the ship Loch Sloy was wrecked on the so nth coast, near the Brother Island, on the morning of April 24th. One of the crew arrived on the island and states all on board were lost except one passenger and^ three members of the crew. The passengers numbered 34, all told. Assistance is being sent. The name of the ship is Loch Sloy. May says one of the crew reached Cape Borda lighthouse in an exhausted condition . The details of the disaster are meagre. The scene of the wreck is the entrance of the Gulf of St Fincent. (Received May 9, at 10 30 p.m) May is not a member of the Lock Sloy's crew, but -was sent by hia father to report the wreck. One of the survivors managed to reach May's house, in an exhausted condition. It is feared the others will not survive their wanderings in the wild country.. Tne tug has sailed in search. The Australian passengers by the vessel are Robert Logan Leicester, and wife, Mrs Cartlidge, George Lamb, and for Dunedin, David Kilpatrick. The vessel was commanded by Captain Niccol. • '
