THE KOKATAHI FERRY

(To the Editor)

Sir.— ln looking over the report in your paper of the last Council meeting, I see that Mr Cumming says ho has been informed signals had oeen made, and when the ferry-man went over no one was ! about. Who was Mr Cummiiig's informer, or was it premeditated on Mr Cumming's parfc. to cast a slur on ,'the Koiterangi settlers. If the shooting season had commenced we may have had a vague idea of larrikins, as we have people of : all classes visiting our district. Until recently we have had many visits from a certain County Councillor, but no, a Councillor would never own to being guilty of auch a trick any more than what a Koiterangi settler would. Until the guilty person or persons, if any, are found out, th c people are at liberty to think as they please. I am, &c, Koiteraxgi Settler.
