A letter has been received from O'Connor stating he is willing to row M'Lean for a thousand dollars or five thousand if for the championship, either race to be rowed in America.
As representatives of Western Australia to the Federal Convention will be unable to attend until a week after the date fixed tor opening, the Government of that Colony asked that the Convention should be postponed, but the request is not likely to be granted. The Taßmanian Government favors postponing, but other colonies are prepared to adhere to the original date.
The Captain sued the crew of the SeVeron for combining to disobey his lawful commands, but tbe case wi>g dismissed, the Captain ndmitting the men's action was justifiable. He contended he only took iWtion in Order to clearly define the position in the eyes of owners and charterers.

Stormy weather has been experienced aiong the Northern Const, resulting in the wreck of two lugpers in Torres Straits, and the drowning of five persons.
