Sic, — I see by the morning's paper that the Hokitika burgesses have moved a want of confidence motion in the Hokitika, Booua;h Councillors in asking the Mayor, by public requisition, to convene a public meeting of the ratepayers to consider the action of the Borough Council in voting a salury o^ 1 £100 for the Mayor of the coming year. If a Coun* cillor I should do one o? two things :—: — Either ignore any resoluiions the public meeting might ca'ry; (2) or resign in a body. I am, &c. Liberal Toet, Hokitika, Nov 21, 1889.
