A. 0. HAII/MONDjArawata. — A ferryman sub-
sidised by the Weetland County Council cannot insist on payment if a traveller fords the river on horseback, nor can a charge for ferry-fare be made if he drives cattle across a river without requiring the services of the ferry-man.
