(Tee United Pkesb Association,] London, Jan. 18. Tallow is firm. Mutton, 36s 6d ; beef, 34s 6d. For kauri, there is a poor demand, 500 cases have recently been sold at a decline of 2s 6d to sb. Imports of Australian lamb exhibit increase for 1888, of 21 per cent over that for 1887, and New Zealand of 19 per cent. In mutton there is a general increase of 73 per cent. At Smithfield, beef is averaging top prices. Australian mutton 4Jd, and Sew Zealand, 4| per lb.
