Imports of Australian lamb exhibit increase for 1888, of 21 per cent over that for 1887, and New Zealand of 19 per cent. In mutton there is a general increase of 73 per cent. At Smithfield, beef is averaging top prices. Australian mutton 4Jd, and Sew Zealand, 4| per lb.
