ORDINARY MEETING.
Thursday, November 25.
Present— The Mayor, Messrs Anderson Killeen, Fitzsimmons, Maloney, Olden, M'llroy and Jorgensen. The minutes of the last ordinary and special meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence approved.
INWARD CORRESPONDENCE.
Letter from Mr Kettles, re repairs to footpath— Referred to Public Works Committee with power to act. From Borough solicitor re Home's case — Resolved the matter of Home's drain be referred back to the Public Works Committee with the solicitors memo.
Prom Bank of New Zealand, re gold purchased — Received. From Secretary Catholic Picnic Committee, re use of Recreation Ground — Request granted.
From Mr L. J. Spyers, re Boundary Eoad contract — Extension of time granted, to 4th December. From Secretary Sports Committee for leave to use Recreation Ground for Christmas sports — Request granted Application of Miss Fosbery for use of Town Hall for educational purposes on Saturday evenings— Request granted subject to her paying 5s per week to the caretaker for extra duties.
MISCELLANEOUS.
Report from Public Works Committee recommending the sum of one pound be granted to Mr Wells for making track in Second street as the street had never been formed, was received and adopted. Mr Jorgenson (by notice) moved and Mr Eileen seconded that a committee be appointed to revise the Bye-Laws, and bring up report to first meeting in January ; <said committee to consist of the Mayor, Messrs Anderson, Maloney and the mover Carried.
Mr Olden (by leave) moved that Main Eoad near the hospital be widened to permit carriages turning with more safety, and Public Works Committee have power to act— Carried. The Council then adjourned.
