Below will be found a brief summary o a Lecture upon tho Liver, delivered before the Electric College of Medicine, by Dr. Murchibou says, " The composition of bile and its (secretion is very complex. It it> couutantly being secreted by the liver, and, increasing suddenly before eating, gradually decreases as soon as tbo appetite is satisfied and feeding ceases," Now ii this most important organ of the body becomes torpid, or the passage of bile interfered with, emaciation and disease ensue. 1 note emlit marked peculiarities that now occur, and which we all know ol ;— 1. The patient complains of a feeling of weightjand fullness of the stomach. 2. Distension of the bowels by wind. Heartburn. 3. A feeling of weariness, pains in the limbs and great sleepiness after meals. 4. A bad taste in the mouth, especially in tho morning, and furred tongue. 5. Constipation, with an occasional attack of diarrhoea. 6. Headache in front of the head. 7. Depression of spirits and great melancholy, with lassitude and a dispoaition to leave everything for 10-morrcv. All of the above symptons go to show functional dcrangemeut'of the liver; and now comes the grea mportance of any error made as to the condition of the patient, lie bhould immediately provide himself with a LIVER STIMULANT, the most common form of which is a Pill.
