The South Australian revenue last year amounted to £2,010,000, a deficit of £5000 as compared with that of the previous year. The custom's receipts decreased during the twelve months by £103,000, and the land revenue by £75,000,
In the House of Assembly last night Mr Colton, Premier and Colonial Treasurer made abatement in which he announced that the budget shows a deficit of £393,000, and that it was tbe intention of the Government to propose the. imposition of a Land Tax and Income Tax. Hobabt, July 1. The revenue for the year ended June 30, amounted to £560,000, tbe largest ever received. July 2. The Tasmanian Parliament opened yesterday. The Governor's speech for tbe occasion, announced that among the measures to be proposed would be one providing for (he appointment of an Australasian Federal Council.
