London, June 21. la the House of Commons to-day, the Right Hon. W. B. Gladstone, in reply to a question, confirmed the announcement made by the Daily News, of the 17th inst., that representations had been made to the United States Government on the subject of the operations of Fenians in England and America. Later.
In the House of Commons to-night, the third' clause of the Irish Land Bill was, after further debate, passed in Committee. Government is now meeting the views of oppenents of the meaßure in a conciliatory spirit, in order to facilitate its passage. The third series of this year's wool auctions will open on August 23rd. The Importers Committee have decided not to place any restriction upon the quantity to be offered. The fourth series of sales will commence on Nov. 22nd. Calcutta, June 2L Telegrams are to hand from Caudahar, announcing that since the defeats inflicted prior to the 7th inßt. at Girisbk, by the Ameer's troops, upon the followers of Ayoub Khan, further engagements have taken place between the two forces. In the last encounter Ayoub's adherents were completely defeated and put to rout, and have since, fled from the neighborhood of Girishk. It is now stated, however, that Ayoub Khan, with a considerable following, is leaving Krigsafed (?) to reinforce his routed troops. Paris, Juae 20. Two hundred Italians were arrested to-day, in Marseilles, for having taken part in the recent disturbance. Bomb, Jane 20. Intense excitement prevails through* out Italy over the occurrences at Marseilles.
