The general election, which is proceeding in this colony, has so far proved favorable to Government. Most of the Ministers have been re-elected.

Melbourne, April 11.

The Marquis of Normanby is daily improving in health, and making satisfactory progress towards recovery.

Sydney, April 11.

The Hawkesbury Autumn Handicap was won by The Barber, with Major second, and Falmouth third.

The Marquis de Ray's immigrants have been housed in the Agricultural Hall in the Domain, the building having been hired for the purpose.
