Arrived the City of New York, Captain Seabury, at 2.30 p.m. having left San Francisco at 5 p.m. on the 28*;h of August. Captain Cobb the commander for three years past, visits the Eastern States on leave, and will resume his position next voyage. Passengers for Auckland ; Saloon, Mr and Mrs Hutchinson, Mr and Mrs Hurdle, four Sisters of the Sacred Heart Convent, Mr and Mrs Locket, Mr and Mrs Smith and two children, Mrs Owen Jones, Messrs Kingdom, Carpenter, Beaumont, Case, and E. M. .Stuart. Steerage; Mr and Mrs King, Mrs Rogers and daugh. er, Messr3 J.H. Smith, Box, Johnston, A. Snii'h snd Mr Phillips For Sydney; 33 cabin and 12 steerage. Cargo for Auckland 156 bales hops, 1000 cases salmon, 29 peks machinery, 205 boxes of apples, 99 cases canned goods, 45 flasks of quicksilver, 45 cases rubber goods and a miscellaneous cargo for this port of 1564 packages. The mail steamer leaves at 6 am. tomorrow for Sydney, Among the through, passengers by the mail steamer for Sydney is the celebrated American actress Miss Louis? Pomeroy. Mr Hayman who accompanies Miss Pomeroy, has also secured to follow, Mr W. A. Leach who will appear in all of Bartley Campbell's new plays, and Robert M'Quade equal to Jefferson in "Rip Van Winkle." Following these will come Miss Agnes Robertson cicau'.t,) Alice Oates Opera Company, and other first class attractions.
