' An action for libel has been commenced by the proprietors of the Telegraph against the proprietors of the Hawke's Bay Herald. ' This afternoon Carlyle, Denweddie, and Morrison were served with three writs at the instance of Kennedy, Knowle?, and iNTewton respectively, the proprietors of the Telegraph. Bach claims a thousand . pounds damages. The alleged libel is contained in a letter published in the Herald .respecting the Gazette's advertising contract!"'
