ASSEMBLY ELECTION. ALL ACCOUNTS against MR R. C. REID in connection whh the recent Election, are requested to be sent in for payment, to the Times office, on or before WEDNESDAY next. GO TO NICHOLSON'S for Dress Materials. Splendid Value, A choice lot of New Prints. J, NICHOLSON & CO. GENERAL ASSEMBLY ELECTION, TO THE ELECTORS OF THE HOKITIKA DISTRICT. Gentlemen, — I take this, the earliest available opportunity after the declaration of the poll, of most heartily thanking the 527 electors who recorded their votes in my favor on the day of polling Especially do I tbank the electors of the town of Hokitika, and the districts of Kauieri and Fox's, by whom I was placed at the head of the poll in their respective localities. It is gratifying to observe that where I was known, I received the largest share of support, and I feel satisfied that but for one or two conflicting and prejudicial influences, over which I had at the time no control, and from the circumstance that the Stafford and Waime a districts were conjoiutly canvassed by two committees, my position on the poll would have been essentially different. Should another occision arise to induce me to seek your suffrages, I can only hope, and believe, the result will be more favorable. I remain, Gentlemen, Your most obedient servant, R. C. REID. Hokitika, Jan. 18, 1876.
