WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this Office up to NOON on WriDNh&DAY, 26th May, 1875, for the construction of Headwords for the above-mentioned Race. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside " Tender or Headworks, elson Creek Water Race." Plans and specifications may be seen at this Office, and at the Public Works Offices at Hokitika and Greymouth. Telegraphic tenders similarly addressed and marked will be received if presented at any Telegnph office by Noon of the same date, ptovided ihat written tenders in due foi in are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer's office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some Hank in the town wheie the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twentyone days, and to be m favor of the Receiver General's Deposit Account only, and nut to bearer or order Tenders, with properly filled up schedule, must be sen in on the printed forms which will be supplied on application, but I the lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
